This presentation provides an overview of both the trademark and patent process for the intellectual property attorney. It is also for those attorneys who do not practice in the field of intellectual property, but would like to know some basics so they can advise clients properly when drafting license agreements, and counsel clients as to when patents or trademarks should be filed, in order to protect their rights.

The course covers searching (due diligence), preparing applications, filing, and navigating the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
